The import-export data of 50 countries across 5 continents yields a combined measure of global market share in any product in trade
MIAMI – October 25, 2013 – Datamyne has launched Global Trade Rankings, semi-annual rankings of the 50 countries in its international import-export database. Countries are ranked by their share of the total value of their combined trade.
With Global Trade Rankings, users can compare the value (in CIF and FOB terms) of these countries’ trade in specific products or commodities and monitor rising or falling values over months, quarters, halves or (soon) years. The initial release of the Rankings covers 2012; the first half of 2013 will be released in December 2013.
The new Rankings are compiled from the world’s largest searchable database of import and export transactions. The Datamyne database covers the cross-border commerce of the US with its 230 trading partners. International coverage includes the EU’s member nations, 17 Latin American countries, as well as China, India, Japan, South Korea, and South Africa. Taken together, these countries account for about 70% of all global trade.
“Our Global Trade Rankings let you see the top markets and sources for products by value,” says Lisa Wallerstein, Datamyne’s vice president of marketing.
“This unique world overview is a great point of departure for drilling down into the trade data of any one of our 50 country markets,” adds Wallerstein, “in many cases, all the way down to the specifics of individual buyers, sellers, brands, volumes and prices.”
Access to Datamyne Global Trade Rankings is free for subscribers to Datamyne’s international trade databases.
